Business Insider: 50 Cybersecurity Leaders

Enveil Founder and CEO Ellison Anne Williams is featured among Business Insider's list of 50 cybersecurity leaders who had an impact this year — and who you should pay attention to in 2021.

Profile excerpt: An innovator during a difficult year, Ellison Williams leads Enveil, a young startup developing homomorphic encryption, which allows analysis to be performed on data without decrypting it first. In other words, that data can be used without exposing it to potential hackers. The firm raised $10 million in funding in February.

Quote: "Enveil protects 'data in use,' where it is and as it is today," Williams explained in June, "Allowing organizations to securely search and derive insights from third-party data sources without ever revealing the contents of the interaction or compromising the security or ownership of the underlying data."
